2. Pay via a card terminal or point of sale (POS) system

A point of sale terminal (POS terminal) is an electronic device used to process card payments at retail locations. A POS terminal generally does the following:

  • Reads the information off a customer’s credit or debit card
  • Checks whether the funds in a customer’s bank account are sufficient
  • Transfers the funds from the customer’s account to the seller’s account
  • Records the transaction and prints a receipt

When you are ready to make a payment, simply insert your payment card into the card reader and you may be asked to enter your 4-digit PIN code in some card swipes (for additional identity confirmation of a card user). This is provided to you by your bank when you first receive the card, and matches the code stored on the chip of the card. You can pay using a debit card (which links directly to your current account) or a credit card (allowing you to borrow up to a certain amount and pay back in flexible payments).

Our POS system accept:

VisaMasterAmex

3. Using your NETS card through A Point Off Sale Terminal (Payment Terminal/ Credit Card Terminal/ Swipe Card Machine)

You can go cashless and enjoy the convenience of paying with NETS. NETS is a locally operated processor, charges lower fees (for merchants) whereas Visa/Mastercard/Amex charge much higher processing fees.

Nets directly debits your linked account immediately.

As a merchant, you might prefer to pay by Nets as the money you get access to pretty much instantly and you pay lower fees to the banks. When payment is made by NETS, the amount will be deducted from your account immediately so there is also less fraud on Nets transactions and your account balance will be up-to-date all the time.

For that reason, we offer NETS payment.

You will use your ATM card or debit card to make a payment by keying a PIN in a terminal instead of running off to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash.

How to use NETS for Retail Purchases

  • Present your card linked to your Current or Savings account to the cashier.
  • Inform the cashier that you will be paying via NETS.
  • Key in your Card PIN and you’re done!

Who can use this service?

You can use this service if you hold a Singapore-issued NETS CARD which is linked to your Current or Savings account. If your ATM, debit or credit card has a NETS logo at the back, your card will be accepted by all NETS terminals.

Fees and Charges

NETS service is usually free of charge.
